Ancy Joe Abraham is an ordained minister and a psychological counselor.

Education

She has a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Global School of Counselling, Bangalore (affiliated to Martin Luther University, India) and Bachelor of Pharmacy from K.L.E. College of Pharmacy, Bangalore (affiliated to Bangalore University, India).

She has received the academic excellence award in Master’s in Counselling Psychology. Her Topic was “parenting styles and social networking behavior of adolescents” as the thesis for graduate degree.

She has received certificates on various topics such as Culture and Psyche: Sudhir Kakar’s Contribution to Indian Cultural Psychology and Psychoanalysis hosted by Christ University, Bangalore, Wholeness or Holiness? (Carl G Jung & James E Loder) organized by St. Andrew Centre for Human Resource Development and Counselling, Coonoor, Trauma Informed Care by LAMb International CANADA and USA, Institute for Human Services, USA, Serve Leadership seminar conducted by Chick-fil- A in association with Leader Impact and Lead International and S.M.I.L.E symposium conducted by Drishti, Bangalore. She is also an accredited facilitator of Prepare-Enrich India.

She has attended different seminars on biology of the mind, counselling those with sexual and relationship brokenness, cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnosis, learning disabilities, ADHD, trauma counselling, pastoral care and counselling, art therapy, human trafficking, guidelines for residential care, scriptural interpretation of counselling, addiction, school counselling, health psychology and received certificates.

Work Experiences

She worked as a solo practitioner at Carmel Clinic, Bangalore, India, and Global School of Counselling, Bangalore, India for six years. Integrating psychology with biblical principles, she has provided one-on-one, couple, and family counseling sessions to help her clients in the areas of marriage and family and administered psychological testing for respective ages. She has conducted workshops for high school students and college students in different cities of India (Chennai, Kerala and Bangalore).

She has done supervision under Vinod Victor (CAT Practitioner, Marriage & Family Therapist, Clinical Supervisor), Bangalore and Ciby Mathew at UIM, Bangalore for four months during master’s Program.

She was a psychology intern at psychiatry department of Bangalore Baptist Hospital, Bangalore and United International School, Bangalore, India

She has done psychiatric assistance with Dr.Darlin Dkhar (Psychiatrist, Bangalore Baptist Hospital) at disability assessment camp and a destitute home for management of psychiatric illnesses, Bangalore, India and conducted workshops for high school students and college students in India.

She worked as a ministry staff at Inter Collegiate Prayer Fellowship (a youth organization), Chennai, India. She has co-founded a non-profit organization Glorious Living Ministries along with her husband Joe Abraham.
