Having a low self-regard can lead people to become depressed, to fall short of their potential, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. But on the other side, too much of self- regard results in over-sense of power and an inability to learn from failures.
Every struggle that people face can be found out and must be treated accordingly. The Counsellor tries to figure out the best approach that will work for each and every client. Some clients do really well with cognitive therapy and make big changes in their life. At the same time some clients need existential therapy or relaxation therapy. Each client is different and responds to different counselling techniques in different ways.
